Back in 2010, no one thought of soccer as a Midwestern sport. A region dominated by traditionally American sports was a hard home for a young soccer team going through a rebrand. When the Kansas City Wizards became Sporting KC, they were underdogs in their own town. They needed to establish themselves as a lasting major league franchise.


We first teamed up with Sporting KC to produce a campaign focused on humanizing the team and players. We highlighted the players’ attributes, connecting them to the fan base while curating a production style that was appropriate for a major league sport. We also sought to tie them directly to the heartland, portraying them as Midwestern heroes. 


Over a decade later, we continue to work with Sporting KC on broadcast, stadium intros and season ticket renewal campaigns. We’ve seen them through an unimaginable consecutive sellout streak, U.S. Open Cup victories and an MLS Championship. While we can’t take credit for the wins on the field, we are proud to be a part of the victory in the Midwest.
